Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect exhaust-gas purifying catalyst against phosphor contamination, by disposing adsorbent for adsorbing phosphorous components in a metalling-oil supply passage.
CONSTITUTION: Adsorbent 12' (for instance, activated alumina) for adsorbing phosphorous components is disposed in front cover 13 of rotary piston engine 1. By the function of adsorbent 12', lubricating oil metered by metalling oil pump 11 and supplied to work chamber via intake-air passage 3 is removed of phosphorous components, so that phophor ash is not produced by combustion of lubircating oil. Therefore, catalyst in exhaust-gas purifying catalyst means 5 is protectd against phosphor contamination. Further, since adsorbent 12' is provided only for lubricating oil supplied to work chamber, the amount of adsorbent can be small. At the same time, degradation in the quality of lubricating oil is not caused since phosphorous components are not removed from lubricating oil reserved in engine 1 for a long time.
