Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled adhesive paper that is made by applying an adhesive which has been prepared by combining a rewettable adhesive used at room temperature with an aqueous solution of a resin showing high-viscosity by gelling at higher temperature, to paper which is less shrinkable with humidity, thus sustaining appropriate adhesion in spite of boiling for hours.
CONSTITUTION: To an aqueous solution of resin which becomes high-viscosity by gelling at high temperature such as methylcellulose, or dispersion of high-molecular substance which becomes high-viscosity by gelatinization at high temperature such as wheat starch or a mixture of both of them, is added rewettable adhesive which is used at room temperature, preferably natural glue such as dextrin, to prepare an adhesive. The resultant adhesive is applied to paper which is less shrinkable with moisture absorption, preferably one side-calendered thin rolled paper, to produce the objective adhesive paper. The paper which has been finished with longer than 100sec of sizing is undercoated with a resin preventing the migration of the adhesive such as hydroxyethyl cellulose to avoid the reduction in adhesion.
