Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the judgement of existence and direction for the underwater object to be detected easily and surely by stereophonic sound, by adjusting the sound volumes of more than 2 speakers on the basis of amount of deflection of sound wave receiving beam from axis of every prescribed direction. CONSTITUTION:Wave-receiving signals from wave-receiving-and-transmitting equipments ST-1 and ST-2..., which are arranged at equal intervals in a circular or a semicircuular configuration, are synthesized by a preamplifier 2, and from a change-over circuit 8 which switches directional beam signal through a sweep signal generator 7, directional wave-receiving outputs are impressed to 2 sets of speakers 11 and 11' through audio frequency change-over circuits 10 and 10'. Gains from these circuits 10 and 10' are controlled by the circuit 7 and also by an amplifier gain controlling signal generator 9 which generates gain control signals having opposite linearity to inclination in respective directions, and by stereophonic wave-receiving sounds by the speakers 11 and 11' which vary volume of sound in accordance with amount of deflection of wave-receiving beam, the presence and direction of the underwater object are able to be determined easily and positively.
