A cover 37 having smoke introducing holes 36 is placed detachably above the shelf 6 on which the materials 5 to be smoked are placed. The heater 12 is electrified to heat the fuel 10 composed of wood, and the generated smoke is circulated forcibly in the vessel 2 with the fan 35. The smoke passes through the gaps S3, S2 and S1 at the inner surface of the main body 2, and is guided through the introducing holes 36 to the materials 5 to be smoked, blasted forcibly to the material and at the same time stirred to eliminate the dead space in the vessel, and adsorbed to the materials 5 to be smoked.
