Abstract
PURPOSE: To promote the intermolecular crosslinkage of a molded article on its surface and to prevent the bleed-through phenomenon, e.g., plasticizer, by molding a vinyl chloride resin previously blended with a specific amount of a methacrylic group-containing compound, followed by treating the resulting molded article with low-temeprature plasma.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of vinyl chloride resin is blended with 0.5W50pts.wt. of a methacrylic group-containing compound (preferably having two or more methacrylic groups), e.g., diethylene glycol dimethacrylate, etc. The resulting composition is processed to give a molded article, which is subjected to low-temperature plasma treatment using gas (e.g., carbon monooxide, etc.) with no plasma polymerization at a pressure of 0.001W10Torr. For example, the plasma treatment is carried out by putting 13.56MHz and electric power of 10W500W between the electrode for scores of minutes.
EFFECT: Keeping effectiveness for a long time without lowering resin properties of its own, this method has merits of dicreasing an amount of a plasticizer in use and improving the flexibility of a molded article.
