Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A quinazolone derivative expressed by formula I (R1 and R3 are alkyls; R2 is alkoxycarbonyl; R1, R2 and R3 are at the 5-, 6- and 7- positions or 6-, 7- and 8-positions in the order; R4 is alkyl, monohalogenomethyl, etc.; R5 is residue of formula II or III; R6 is H, halogen, alkyl, etc.; R7 is R6, CF3, etc.; R8 is R6, cyano, hydroxyl group, etc.; R9 is H or alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 6-Ethoxycarbonyl-2,5,7-trimethyl-3-(o-tolyl)-4-quinazolone.
USE: A vasodilator, an ameliorant for blood circulation, a hypotensive agent, and an antiarteriosclerotic agent.
PROCESS: A compound of formula IV is reacted with a compound of formula V [X is halogen or -O-C(=O)-R4], and then a compound of the formula R5-NH2, and if necessary hydrolyzed.
