Abstract

PURPOSE: To fix a balancer shaft automatically on a supporting device by making use of its own weight.
CONSTITUTION: A supporting device C is constituted so that a balancer weight part of a balancer shaft 23 is always positioned perpendicular to a rolling member which is journaled on a base platform 27 by an action of the weight of the balancer shaft 23. A rotary driving device D is equipped with a main shaft 18 with a carrier part 20 and a tail stock 21 between which a balancer shaft 23 is tightly held when the device D rotates. A reversing device E which reversely turns and conveys the balancer shaft 23 between the balancer shaft supporting device C and the rotary driving device D is constituted, to achieve completely automatic machining, so that it grips and conveys the shaft 23 on the supporting device C onto a line which connects the main shaft 18 and the tail stock 21 and the shaft 23 is automatically held by the rotary driving device not interfering with the carrier part 20.
