Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable measurement of low frequency of a commerical power source with high precision by a method wherein the device is formed by providing a flip- flop circuit which is set by the output of a one-shot circuit and reset by the output of a counter circuit.
CONSTITUTION: The input frequency is transduced into a rectangular wave by a waveform shaping circuit 1 and generates a pulse at a rise time of input in the one-shot 2, and the pulse is inputted in the set terminal of the flip-flop 3. On the other hand, the pulse of an oscillating circuit 4 giving a frequency higher enough than the input frequency is counted by a binary counter 5 and the output pulse thereof is inputted in the reset terminal of the flip-flop 3, while the counter 5 is reset by one output of the flip-flop 3 and the DC output in proportion to the input frequency is taken out from the other. Since the component which incurs the change in the time-constant with the passage of time, such as a capacitor and a resistance, is not used, the low frequency can be measured with high precision.
