Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the perfect removal of charge without giving any influence to the image on the surface of a transfer sheet by coating a charge removing agent on the back surface of the transfer sheet right after the transfer sheet is peeled from the transfer drum. CONSTITUTION:A coating means A of a charge removing agent and a drying means B are so provided that they subsequently contact the transfer sheet 11 stripped from a transfer drum 10. The means A consists of a web 12, a retaining roller 14 and a charge removing agent tank 15. The web 12 is pulled out in the state that it is wet by the charge removing agent 17, and is pressed to the sheet 11 by the roller 14, by which the charge removing agent 17 is evenly coated on the back surface of the sheet 11. Thereafter, the sheet 11 is dried by the drying means 2, and this completes the charge removing operation. These make it possible to make charge potential nearly 0 volts without staining the image surface and prevent shock of an electric discharge to a human body.
