Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove an oily material readily and at a low cost, by adsorbing the insoluble oily material suspending in waste water on a petallike gyrolite type calcium silicate and silica.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A petallike gyrolite type calcium silicate or (B) petallike silica or both are dispersed in water to adsorb an oily material suspending therein, and the suspension is filtered to separate the oily material from water. Alterhatively, water containing suspended oily material is passed through a filtration tank made from the components (A) and/or (B) to remove the oily material. Particulate or tableted components (A) and (B) may be used if necessary.
USE: Effective for recovering mineral oil in waste water treatment and oil flowing out by accidents.
