Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably preserve a bleach-fix bath over a long term by adding a specified compound inhibiting oxidation decomposition to a reducing agent soln. when the bath is separated into reducing and oxidizing agents and stored. CONSTITUTION:A bleach-fix bath is separated into a part contg. ferric complex of aminopolycarboxylic acid of the like as an oxidizing agent and a part contg. thiosulfate and sulfite or the like as a reducing agent, and they are separately stored in the form of solns. To the soln. of the reducing agent part are added 0.001-5.0g/l one or more kinds of compounds selected from L-ascorbic acid (derivs.), erysorbic acid (derivs.) and alkali metal salts thereof. The pH of the soln. is preferably adjusted to 3.0-8.0. By this method the sulfite is not decomposed to maintain the stability of the soln. even in open storage.
