Abstract

PURPOSE: To cultivate Donaliella in extremely high productivity, by cultivating Dunaliella in a culture solution to which Chlorella extract with hot water is added, having a reduced NaCl, concentration while feeding CO2 gas to the culture solution.
CONSTITUTION: Chlorella extract with hot water in an amount to give an absorbance of OD at 260nm by a spectophotometer not less than 0.1, preferably in a range 0.1W5 is added to a culture solution consisting of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium as main nutrient sources. The culture solution is adjusted to have an NaCl concentration of 0.5W3wt%, and Dunaliella is cultivated in the culture solution at 25W30°C while feeding a given amount of gas to it.
