Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable measurement of the velocity of wind corresponding to the direction of the wind by constituting a pitot tube so that it may rotate constantly in accordance with the direction of the wind.
CONSTITUTION: A bottomless drum 1 is fitted to a bottomed frum 4 rotatably through liquid sealing, while the inside thereof is divided into two chambers tightly sealed by a partition 8 suspended vertically from the bottomless drum 1. In the drum 1 a pitot tube 2 and a ladder 3 are arranged in the same direction, and from the side of the drum 1, a static-pressure tube 11 of the pitot tube 2 is introduced into one chamber 9, while a dynamic-pressure tube 12 of the pitot tube 2 is introduced into the other chamber 10. Moreover, from the side of the bottomed drum 4, a static-pressure tube 11' is introduced into the chamber 9 and a dynamic-pressure tube 12' into the other chamber 10. When the static-pressure tube 11' and the dynamic-pressure tube 12' are connected with a manometer, the velocity of wind can be measured by the pitot tube 2. Since the bottomless drum 1 is rotated in the direction of the wind by the ladder 3, the pitot tube 2 accords constantly with the direction of the wind, whereby the velocity of the wind corresponding to the direction thereof can be measured.
