Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable optical transmission bodies having circular cylindrical lens arrays to be volume-produced with a good yield by cutting the product blank material having beforehand been formed longer than a required size to an equal width.
CONSTITUTION: Circular cylindrical lenses 11W are held between plate members 13 having good flatness, after which these are formed into one piece by an adhesive resin to form a product blank material 10. The length L of this blank material 10 is equal to the length of the product 60 of the optical transmission body, but its width L1 is set sifficiently larger than the width W of the product 60. If such product blank material 10 is cut to form the product 60, the waste of the lenses 11 and costly materials such as adhesive resin is made less than that in their individual production and the yield of the products is improved considerably.
