Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction in the number of workers and the working time by guiding a flying body connected with an optical cable to a desired position then laying the cable aerially.
CONSTITUTION: An optical cable 8 of small diameter and lightweight design is connected to a remote-controlled flying body 9 and the flying body 9 is guided to a desired position by remote control while the optical cable 8 is being unwound from a winding frame and is being extended so as not to be given tension. After this, the cable 8 is fixed to cable supports and is thereby aerially laid. In this way, the number of workers and the working time required for the laying may be decreased considerably. The similar effect may also be obtained even by connecting the optical cable 8 to a harpoon and shooting said harpoon 12 to a desired direction with a gun 11.
