Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the yield of heavy cut in fractions produced by cracking and to inhibit the formation of coke, by a method wherein a heavy petroleum oil contg. distillation residue is supplied to the lower part of a riser reactor to contact the oil with a regenerated catalyst and at the same time hydrogen is supplied to the riser reactor.
CONSTITUTION: A raw heavy petroleum oil is supplied through a line 3 to the lower part of a riser reactor 1. Part of a regenerated catalyst obtd. from a catalyst-regeneration zone 5 is supplied through a line 8 to the reactor where the catalyst is contacted with the raw oil. Hydrogen together with an inert fluid is supplied through a line 11 to the reactor 1 to react it with the oil. products are discharged to a separation zone 2 having a cyclone separator 9. The separated hydrocarbon vapor is fed to a recovery system. The catalyst is drawn out from the bottom of a stripping zone 4 and supplied through a line 6 to the regeneration zone 5. A regenerating gas contg. O2 is supplied through a line 7 to the regeneration zone 5 where coke deposited on the surface of the catalyst is burntd. Part of the regenerated catalyst is supplied through a line 8' to the fluidized bed of the separation zone 2 or to the stripping zone 4. By using H2, the yield of heart cut is increased and the formation of the coke is decreased.
