NEW MATERIAL:An azomethine compound of formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are H, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy).
USE: An azomethine dye presenting a bright red and suitable for coloring a paint, a printing ink and a synthetic resin.
PREPARATION: Two mols of 3-imino-4,5,6,7-tetrachloroisoindolin-1-one of formula II is reacted with 1mol of a diisocyanate compound of formula III, in an inert solvent at 50W250°C.
