Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer a high-pressure slurry without causing damage to valves, etc. by a method wherein slurry in a high-pressure container is once housed in a measuring container and is sealed, then the measuring container is connected to a low-pressure container. CONSTITUTION:A slurry under a high pressure such as one obtained by a direct hydrogenation-liquefaction reaction of coal is converted to a slurry under low pressure. In such a process, slurry in a high-pressure gas-liquid separation tank 9 is once charged into measuring containers 20, 23, then after cutting the connection to the tank 9, the measuring container 20 is connected to a low pressure container 28. This allows gas in the slurry to expand and gasify and causes gas pressure, which forces the slurry to be naturally sent. In this manner, slurry under a high pressure is smoothly and stably transferred to a low-pressure container, and because of valve cutoff and opening functions, abrasion is reduced and a continuous operation is enabled.
