Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the electrospark machining liquid which is made incombustible, with the machining performance being maintained, by a method whrerin a combustible oil generally used hitherto added with water is emulsified with a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:So as to emulsify the combustible oil, first a nonionic surfactant is added to the oil and stirred for about one minute. To this liquid is added water gradually, while being stirred, and the stirring is continued for 30min after the water is added. When the liquid emulsified by adding water to the oil is made into the solution of emulsion wherein the density of oil is 50% or less in volume, it is turned to be in an incombustible state even if ignited. Since the oil is thus emulsified to be incombustible, the fear of fire is dissipated even when there is any misoperation in machining.
