Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a pigment maintaining a color tone and clearness of a dyestuff, excellent in solvent resistance and suitable as a coloring agent of a plastic or a rubber, comprising by having a specific calcium silicate support a basic dyestuff.
CONSTITUTION: A basic dyestuff is supported on a calcium silicate showing an X-ray diffraction pattern of a zeolite type calcium silicate as well as having a SiO2/ CaO mole ratio of 1.5W6.5 to prepare a pigment. This calcium silicate is an aggregate of a circular or an elliptical thin segment with an average diameter of a longitudinal direction of 0.1W30μ and a thickness of about 0.05W0.1μ in many cases. As a basic dyestuff, any known dyestuff can be used.
