Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the grading of prints from being caused by the variations in the ink level and also prevent the ink from scattering by a method wherein an ink- occuluding member impregnated with the ink is contained in the ink tank, in the ink feeder for the rotary printer.
CONSTITUTION: The ink-occuluding member 2 made of felt or the like is contained in the ink tank 1, with ink impregnated in the ink-occuluding member 2, and an ink sucking-up member 5 comprising an elastic core 3 (e.g., spring netting, a beryllium, plastic, etc.) accompanied by a pervious material 4 such as felt is built in the ink tank 1, in such a manner that the ink sucking-up member 5 is pressed against an inking roller 7 by its own elasticity. The upper portion of the ink sucking-up member 5 is covered with a screen member 10 so as to prevent the hair of felt from falling out. Stripe-shaped grooves 6 are cut in the outside surface of the roller 7, to feed the ink smoothly. By driving a transfer roller 8 to rotate, the ink on the roller 7 is transferred to a plate cylinder 9, excess ink being recovered into the tank 1 by an ink recovering plate 12.
