Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the mixture of a pulse noise by discriminating the pulse noise in the output of a variable gain amplifier by a pulse noise discriminating circuit and then by resetting the hold value of a peak value detecting circuit with the output of the discriminating circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output of variable gain amplifier 9 is supplied to peak value detecting circuit 13 and a peak value detection voltage developed across capacitor 12 of detecting circuit 13 is applied to arithmetic circuit 15 of gain control circuit 10. The output voltage of this arithmetic circuit 15 is supplied to control circuit 9A of amplifier 9 to exercise control so that level of a received ultrasonic-wave pulse signal appearing at the output of amplifier 9 will be constant. Pulse noise discriminating circuit 17, provided at the output side of this amplifier 19, discriminates a pulse noise and applies its discrimination output to switch 16, connected to sample holding circuit 14 of circuit 10, via sample-holding inhibiting method 19 to reset the hold value of circuit 13, preventing the pulse noise from mixing.
