Abstract

PURPOSE: To display the moving velocity of a moving object as a change of color on a cathode- ray tube in correspondence with the moving velocity by a method wherein the front edge portion and the rear edge portion of the moving object are displayed in blue and red, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The coordinates of the poins in the area occupied by the object in position M are represented by the digit "1", and the coordinates of the other points are represented by the digit "0". At time t, the coordinates of the points occupied by the object in position M' are represented by the digit "1", and the coordinates of the other points are represented by the digit "0". When the coordinates corresponding to M are subtracted from those corresponding to M', the front edge portion and the rear edge portion of the object are represented by +1 and -1, respectively. The picture information obtained by a camera 1 is processed by a predetermined circuit, and memories 4 and 5 memorize the picture data of M and M', respectively. A subtractor 8 subtracts the output 4a of the memory 4 from the output 5a of the memory 5 to obtain an output waveform 8a, of which the plus component and the minus component correspond to the front edge portion and the rear edge portion, respectively, of the moving object and the width of the plus or minus component corresponds to the moving velocity of the object. The output waveform 8a is inputted into a color decoder circuit 9, and the plus component and the minus component are displayed in blue and red, respectively, on a color display unit.
