Abstract

PURPOSE:To dispense with the conventional reclining device by making a seat cushion slidable with respect to upper rails and making the tilting of the seat back variable with the sliding of the seat cushion. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of a mounting bracket 28 secured to the lower end of a seat back frame is pivoted to a seat cushion frame 24, and a slit 29 is formed in each side of the seat back frame. The opposite sides of the seat cushion frame are provided with projections 25a and 25b slidable in slits 21a and 21b formed in upper rails 14, and the frame 24 can be moved back and forth by operating an operating lever 24. Pins 22 projecting from the upper rails are fitted in the slits 29 formed in the frame 27, and the back frame 27 is titled as the frame 24 is moved back and forth.
