Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the life of a tire by providing studding parts and cooling parts alternately on the periphery of the tire for cooling the tire.
CONSTITUTION: The periphery of a snow tire A is divided into six equal blocks from 1 to 6. Each block is provided with a main cooling part 1A, a studding part 1B studded with studs 7, a subcooling part 1C, and a studding part 1D. The width of the subcooling part is selected to be the half of the main cooling part. The total periphery of two cooling parts is selected to be 50W60% of the whole. In this construction, 4W8 studs are always kept in contact with the earth, and the tire is prevented from overheating by the cooling part as keeping a spiking effect as strong as before. Consequently, studs are prevented from tumbling or falling off.
