Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a control for setting a torque easily within a range from starting to a max. value by shifting a torque characteristic towards a prescribed direction proportionally, forming a rotor of an induction machine which forms a dynamometer as a high resistance type.
CONSTITUTION: When an electric dynamometer for testing an internal engine is formed by a special double squirrel-cage induction motor of a high resistant cage type, torque characteristic curves, A and B, become to be smooth characteristic curves respectively which shift the max. torque characteristics occurring adjacent to synchronous speeds proportionally toward a slip S direction since a rotor has a high resistance. Therefore, the control for setting the torque can be easily performed within a range from starting to the max. value.
