Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide accurate liquid level measurement by closing a sensing coil in a long thin tube and composing a detector of an annular float equipped with a metal cylinder of high magnetic permeability which can be moved up and down near the detection coil on the outside of the said tube, in the level guage consisting of plural on/off detectors connected in series in the height direction.
CONSTITUTION: The level guage is installed in the height direction inside the pressure container of the boiling water-type atomic reactor. The body of the level guage is composed of airtight internal tube 22 housing detection coil 20 and lead wire 21, external tube for protection 24 with multiple perforations for allowing the passage of water 23, annular float 25 which can move up and down outside of the internal tube, stopper 26 which limits the movable range of the said float 25 and spacer 27. The float 25 is hollow and contains a metal cylinder of high magnetic permeability. The float 25 is afloat in the liquid, increasing the inductance of detection coil 20. A signal from the detector makes the indicator panel 29 display a liquid level through a decoder 28. Thus it is possible to measure an actual liquid level with accuracy.
