Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the extent of separation and concn. of an isotope, by a method wherein an isotope is dissolved in a polar solvent added with a specific amount of a surface active agent and the resulting solution is separated by an ion ?exchange chromatography or an electrophoresis along or by a combination thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of an objective isotope is dissolved in one or more of a polar solvent selected from water, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, formamide, acetamide, dimethylformamide, or γ- butyrolactone and 0.01W10wt% of a surface active agent is added thereto. From the aforementioned solvent solution, the isotope is separated and concentrated by the ion exchange effect or the electrophoretic effect alone or by the combination thereof.
