Abstract

PURPOSE: To mold a mold of superior surface condition by charging the molding sand which has been cut from sand lumps into uniform particles into a molding flask having been joined with a porous pattern plate, then passing compressed air in the molding sand thereby uniformly hardening the molding sand on the surface of the pattern plate.
CONSTITUTION: A flask member 34 is suspended and a hopper 29 containing molding sand 43 is rotatively moved rightward until it is positioned above a pattern plate 13. Next, a piston rod 6 is moved upward to move the pattern plate 13 upward so that it is superposed with a molding flask 16 and a filling flask 17. While an eccentric rod 38 is oscillated to the right and left by eccentrically rotating the eccentric shaft 42 provided to the hopper 29, the louver gate 30 of the hopper is opened to charge the molding sand into the filling flask 17 and molding flask 16 by way of the flask member 34. The sand lumps in the molding sand are uniformly cut by the oscillation of a plurality of steel wires 35 in the flask member. Next, a cover member 25 is placed on the molding sand and compressed air is passed through a feed hole 24 to harden the molding sand, after which the pattern plate 13 is moved upward to press the molding sand, whereby the mold of good surface condition is manufactured.
