Abstract

PURPOSE: To feed short length plate materials automatically and efficiently to a press by providing a feeding and a pulling rolls to give a feeding pitch before and behind the working part of a press as well as a controlling device, in a press which has such a feeding device to suck a plate one by one from a stock pile of short length plate materials.

CONSTITUTION: A vacuum sucking feeder 4 absorbs one sheet from a piled group of short length plates A and lifts it to the predetermined height by the instruction of a sequence controlling device, then horizontally carries it to the direction B and inserts one end of a plate material A into a feeding roll 2. The roll 2 is so rotated by a servomotor 5 as to feed the plate material A to the working part 1 of the press with the length which enables the first press work. The distance between the feeding roll 2 and pulling roll 3, both of which are driven at same revolution by the same shaft, is adjusted less than the length of plate material. Thereby the plate material is fed into the roll 3 when it reaches the roll 3, freed itself from the roll 2. The plate material A is pulled by the roll 3 in the same manner as before and becomes scrap after completing the predetermined number of press works, then discharged from the roll 3 by a specific rotation of motor 5.
