CONSTITUTION:The signal receiver 7 separates the signal sent through the transmission line 6 into the signal showing the presence or absence of the control signal S and the normal digital signal. Then the digital signal is applied to the D/A converter 8 to be turned into the analog signal to be then supplied to the variable gain amplifier 10. At the same time, the signal showing the presence or absence of the signal S is decided by the deciding circuit 9. And when the signal S is present, a control is given to change greatly the gain of the amplifier 10 on the contrary to the transmission side. And in case the signal S is absent, no change is given to the gain to have the normal amplification. As a result, the signals higher than the input signal level at the transmission side are transmitted with the compressed amplitude and then amplitude at the reception side with an increased gain. Accordingly, the received signal level at the expanded receiving signal using device 11 becomes similar to the transmission side.
