Abstract

PURPOSE: To assuredly correct incomplete fitting between a tire and its rim in a short period of time by repetitively applying transverse forces alternately to front and rear sides of the tire having its rim assembled therewith.
CONSTITUTION: A fixing mechanism 4 is provided which is adapted to grasp a rim 3 assembled to a tire 2 from above and below of the rim 3 to hold same in a horizontal position. A transverse force applying mechanism 7 is also provided which includes a pair of pressure rings 5 disposed above and below the thus held tire 2 and supported on respective cylinders 6 for vertical motion into and out of engagement with front and rear sides of the tire 2 along the whole circumferences thereof. The cylinders 6 are repetitively reciprocated so that the pressure rings 5 are alternately pressed downwardly and upwardly against the front and rear sides of the tire 2 so as to apply the alternate transverse forces thereto. By this method, incomplete fitting between the rim 3 and the tire 2 can be corrected assuredly in a short period of time.
