Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a practical, low-cost, low-load solar heater for home use by a method wherein a heat accumulator consisting of plural heat accumulating containers connected together in the form of a reed-screen is contained in a containing box and used as a heat source. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of cylindrical plastic-made heat accumulating container 1 filled with a latent heat accumulating material (e.g., calcium chloride) having a melting point of about 30-50 deg.C are connected together in the form of a blind by using flexible connecting bands 2, to constitute a heat accumulator 10. The heat accumulator 10 radiates heat when expanded as shown at the left in the figure, and collects or accumulates heat when contracted as shown at the right in the figure. A containing box 3 for containing the heat accumulator 10 comprises a transparent plate 4 removably fitted in a slide portion 3a, with a lattice- formed opening 3c provided on the opposite side of the transparent plate 4. In heat collecting condition, heat is accumulated through the transparent plate 4. In the heat radiating condition, the transparent plate 4 is removed and heat is radiated by blowing air by a blower or the like method.
