Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable performing of completely automatic operations necessary to wind a tape around a toroidal body and of other operations, by a method wherein, a flyer attached with a tape is turned to wind the tape around the flyer, and then the tape is cut while the flyer is stopped at a fixed point, the end of the tape is held to proceed the winding of the tape to the toroidal body or other work automatically.
CONSTITUTION: A single surface adhesive tape 4 is automatically wound spirally around a toroidal body 1 at given pitch by rotating a flyer 13 by means of a device proper A, attached with the tape 4. At a point of time when the winding is completed, the flyer 13 is forcibly stopped by the action of a mechanism B for stopping the flyer at a fixed point. A device for cutting and supporting the tape operates to cut the tape and support it at the end of the tape. Simultaneously, unloading bars 28 and 29 of an unloading device for the toroidal body are raised to take up the toroidal body 1 from supporting rolls 2 and 3 to the outside of the device.
