Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure water sealing performance of an extremely slender submergible pump using a dry type submergible motor, by providing a mechanical seal between a pump section and a motor section of the pump.
CONSTITUTION: In a hollow enclosed space 16 defined by a seal case 12 and an upper bracket 15 of motor section 2, there is provided a junction 17 of a motor lead wire 6 extended from motor bracket 15 and a feeder cable 9 extended from seal case 12. At the central portion of motor bracket 15, there is provided a shielding sleeve 18 in the manner of surrounding a motor shaft 4. Further, in order to prevent that oil leaked from a mechanical seal 13 flows into the space between the shielding sleeve 18 and motor shaft 4, a seal ring 20 is fixed to motor shaft 4 in the manner that it is held in contact with the top end face of sleeve 18. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to ensure connection of the motor lead wires as well as water sealing performance and at the same time to simplify manufacturing of an extremely slender submergible pump.
