Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a superior surface roughness of major margin with one step in a plange cutting process in which a grinding wheel is relatively approached to a workpiece by a method wherein a relative speed between an outer circumferential speed of the grinder wheel and a speed of the workpiece is varied in response to a degree of cutting speed of either a rough cutting or a precision cutting.
CONSTITUTION: In a rought cutting range I having a high cutting speed, a cutting is perfomred at a value of A in which a relative speed ratio of V/v between a circumferential speed of the grinder wheel V and a circumferential speed of the workpiece v shows a low value, and in turn in a precision cutting range II having a low cutting speed, a cutting is performed at a value of B in which a relative speed ratio of V/v shows a high value. Thus, in a rough cutting, the cutting operation is performed under a low cutting resistance and in a precision cutting, the cutting is performed under a high cutting resistance, so that they may correspond to each of the surface roughneses and further a superioir surface roughness may be provided even in a cutting operation for the major margin under one stroke.
