Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the gas-liquid separation performance by a mthod wherein the stream of gaseous and phases is guided from the lower part of a cylindrical body installed in a cylindrical gas-liquid separator, is made to a swirling flow, and moved upward, then passed through the internal wall between the cylinder and the gas- liquid separator, and is discharged from the bottom section. CONSTITUTION:The stream of gaseous and liquid phases is guided 23 tangentially to the surface of a cylindrical body 21 into the cylindrical body 21 and is moved upward through a spiral passage 26 while being swirled. During this upward movement, the centrifugal force causes the liquid to be collected at the peripheral part and bubbles in the vicinity of a central guide cylinder 24. The bubbles are moved along the cylinder 24 so that they are unified to grow into large bubbles. Meanwhile, the liquid separated from the gas is moved downward through annular liquid passage 22 between the inner wall of the gas-liquid separator body 20 and the outer wall of the cylindrical body 21, and then is flowed into a straight passage 20. The liquid is rectified in the passage 20, and small bubbles not separated in the cylinder 21 are collected on the wall surface of the passage 30, so that they are unified and floated up, which is collected at the lower side of the guide plate 27 and discharged 28 to the inner upper part of the body 20. The liquid separated from small bubbles is flowed from outlet pipe 35.
