Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a heat-resistant, vibration-resistant, and long-life catalyst, having a resistance to deterioration, as a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas by forming a base material of a perovskite type oxide, e.g., SrFeO3 and LaNtO3 to prevent the deterioration.
CONSTITUTION: As a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas containing carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, etc., discharged from automobile, combustors, etc., a continuously cellular structure is formed on a base material consisting of a perovskite type oxide, e.g., SrFeO3 and LaNiO3, and then baked to obtain the catalyst. The catalyst thus obtained, having excellent heat resistance and excellent vibration resistance as well as a high resistance to wearing and declamation, can effectively clean exhaust gas by providing a three-dimensional turbulent flow when brought into contact with the exhaust gas.
