Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a noise band from increasing by equipping a tape run control method that controls a reel driving motor so that the high-speed run speed of a beltlike magnetic tape will be constant. CONSTITUTION:Reel driving motor 12 drives take-up or supply reel 10 or 1. At this time, a control signal is detected by control head 4 and reproduced by reproducing circuit 41 before being led to speed detector 42. Since the frequency of the reproduced control signal varies with the speed of tape 2, the tape run speed is detected by measuring the time between signal pulses. The signal is supplied to the (-) terminal of operational amplifier 44 by way of the resistance and its (+) terminal is applied with a voltage from electric power source +B. The difference between the voltage set by variable resistance 46 and the input voltage of the inverted input terminal (-) is output and amplified 48 and the amplification output is applied to reel driving motor 12 to form the AFC servo loop so that the run speed of tape 2 will be constant. Consequently, the rotational frequency of motor 12 varies with the extent of a taken-up tape.
