Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Tetrahydro-1,3,5-thiaziadines of formula I (X is H, Cl, R1 and R2 are 1W5C alkyl) or their salts.
EXAMPLE: 2-Isopropylimino-3-isopropyl-5-(2'-pyridyl)-tetrahydro-1,3,5-thiadiazin- 4-one.
USE: Insecticide: they protect grain and vegetable crops, trees, timbers, lawns and so on from insect pests. They also are used to keep garbage pits and kitchens clean, because they prevent the breeding of flies and cockroaches. They show high controlling effect on insects in Hemiptera, Coleptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera and Blattidae in particular.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction of N-chloromethyl-N-2-pyridylcarbamoyl chloride of formula II with a thiourea of formula III wherein, when a dehydrochlorinating agent is employed, the compound of formula I is acid-free, while heating is preferred, when the agent is unemployed.
