Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare urogastrone useful as an antiulcer agent and gastric juice secretion suppressing agent, in high purity and yield, by adjusting the pH of the urine of a mammal, removing the precipitate from the urine, and adding a specific aluminosilicate powder as an adsorbent thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The pH of the urine of human, a pregnant mammal, etc. is adjusted to 3.3W4.8, and the precipitate is removed by centrifugal separation, etc. The urine is treated with pref. a weak basic anion exchange resin to remove the components other than urogastrone, and then added with aluminosilicate powder of formula Al2O3.9SiO2.xH2O as an adsorbent. The adsorbed urogastrone is eluted with an alkaline buffer solution containing 10% ammonium acetate, etc. The adsorbent is pref. the one prepared by treating the aluminosilicate powder having particle diameters of 150W350μ with e.g. 3N aqueous hydrochloric acid solution, washing with water, drying, and heating at 400°C for 30min for activation.
