Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a nontacky chewing gum having improved prevention of attaching to a tooth, by incorporating polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid in a given proportion as a tack preventive into a chewing gum.
CONSTITUTION: A nontacky chewing gum comprising 0.05W3.0wt%, preferably 0.5W1.0wt%, polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid as a tack preventive to a tooth. The use of the preventive provides improved permanence of a flavor and chewiness, and prolonged retention of gum softness in addition to the tack prevention. The polyglycerol part in the polyglycerol ester of a fatty acid is a dimerWheptamer of glycerol, and the carbon number of the fatty acid part is preferably in the range of 12W20. About 0.2wt% or more of the tack preventive is added in the final step of preparing a chewing gum base, or 0.05W3.0wt% of the tack preventive is added together with a chewing gum additive or a sweetening agent to a chewing gum base prepared by the conventional method.
