Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out the effective heating operation, by providing a frosting condition detection circuit, the first timer circuit, a counter, the second timer circuit etc., and performing an optimum defrosting operation in accordance with frosting conditions on an outdoor heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: When a defrosting start signal has been issued from a frosting condition detection circuit 40, a defrosting signal is issued from the first timer circuit 80 for about 5min, and at the same time a defrosting signal is issued from a second timer circuit 81 for about 10min. Thus based on the action of the second timer circuit 81 a defrosting operation will be carried for about 10min. In this case, the counted contents in a quaternary counter 82 will be cleared by the defrosting signal issued from the second timer circuit 81. Thus every time when the defrosting operation is carried out for about 5min three times based on the action of the first timer circuit 80, the defrosting operation based on the action of the second timer circuit 81 is carried out for about 10min.
