Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a discrepancy in a relative position between head tapes due to a difference of thermal expansion between members and prevent an influence due to the thermal expansion by a method wherein a rotating shaft is constituted with two members having different thermal expansion coefficients in a rotation transmitting device of a cylinder or the like for a VTR.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating shaft 9 is constituted with an upper rotating shaft 28, made of brass, and a lower rotating shaft 29, made of steel, and both of them are integralized by friction welding. On the other hand, a hydraulic bearing supporting the rotating shaft 9 is formed by a radial hydraulic bearing 18, a thrust supporting portion 20 and a thrust bearing flange 19. An upper cylinder 1 is detachably fitted to a bush 8 coupled with the rotating shaft 9 while an lower cylinder 3 is secured to a lower housing 4 coaxially with the rotating shaft 9. The rotating shaft 9 is constituted with two members having different thermal expansion coefficients and longitudinal elastic moduluses as described above, thereby, a relative positional variation due to thermal expansions between head tapes may be minimized and a high rigidity may be given to the rotating shaft 9.
