Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the interference of platen glass and original guide by providing crest-shape guide cams to the supporting member at the trailing end of the platen glass, engaging these with the protruding part of the original guide and moving the original guide forward and backward.
CONSTITUTION: A shaft 11 is revolved by way of the arms 8, 10 and wire 9 of an interlocking mechanism A by operating the lever 3 of a sheet original feeder 1 and the original guide 14 interlocked with the shaft 11 and actuating claw 12-1 is moved forward and backward to shift its protrusion 25 from the front side cam face 15a of the guide cam provided to the actuating member 26 to the rear side cam face 15b. Hence, the end face of the original guide 14 becomes lower than the platen glass 17 and the sheet original 2 from the feeder 1 may be passed on the original guide 14 without any obstacle. Further by returning the lever 3 to the original position, ordinary copying may be done and the original position alignment may be thus be accomplished smoothly.
