Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide titled compsn. which excels in adhesive strength to metals, etc., is inexpensive and is easy to handle, by a method wherein a polymer of a vinyl arom. hydrocarbon and optionally an olefin polymer are mixed with a nylon polymer.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a hot-melt adhesive compsn. obtd. by mixing 1W200pts.wt. of a polymer of a vinyl arom. hydrocarbon (e.g. styrene) and optionally 1W200pts.wt. of an olefin polymer (e.g. polyethylene) with 100pts.wt. of a nylon polymer (e.g. nylon 12, nylon 6) and molding the mixt. into an appropriate shape. Adhesive force to metals, etc. is strengthened by the addition of the polymer of the vinyl arom. hydrocarbon. More strong adhesive force can be obtd. by the further addition of the olefin polymer.
USE: The compsn. is used for the hot-melt adhesion of metallic materials such as iron, aluminum; inorg. materials such as glass, slate; fiber materials such as cotton, nylon; papers. etc.
