Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled composition, which gives a molded product, excellent in dyability, antistatic properties and pilling resistance, and evolves no aldehyde gas when molded, is composed of a copolymer of a polyester with polyalkylene glycols, and a silicon compound.
CONSTITUTION: A copolymerized polyester, prepared by the copolymerization of a polyester, e.g., polyethylene terephthalate with a polyalkylene glycol and/or its derivative, e.g., polyethylene glycol, is compounded with a silicon compound, e.g, finely powdered silica. It is possible to improve dyability, antistatic properties and pilling resistance by use of the polyalkylene glycols, and to almost eliminate aldehyde gas evolution due to the thermal decomposition of the polyalkylene glycols, during molding, by the addition of the silicon compound.
