Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the characteristics of transmitted signals, by transmitting a signal from an indoor unit to an outdoor unit at a plurality of discrete DC levels and transmitting a signal from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit in the form of short-period pulses.
CONSTITUTION: A signal is converted to discrete DC levels by inverters 121, 123, 125 and resistors 122, 124, 126, and 220 so that the converted signal is transmitted from an indoor unit 110 to an outdoor unit 210 through a transmission line SD. A signal is converted into short-time pulses of a prescribed level by a monostable multivibrator 249 so that the pulses are transmitted from the outdoor unit 210 to the indoor unit 110 through the transmission line SD. According to this constitution, the number of connected electric wires between the indoor and the outdoor units can be reduced and the difference between transmission levels can be made large. This results in enlarging the noise margin at each transmission level and improving the characteristics of the transmitted signals.
