Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure release of a directly coupled clutch by draining-out of the clutch oil pressure through a fail-safe valve irrespectively of the selected position of a directly coupled clutch control valve, when the governor oil pressure lowers below a fixed value.
CONSTITUTION: When the car speed decreases below a fixed value, and the governor oil pressure lowers below an assigned level, a fail-safe valve 113 is set in 110A position by a spring 112, and an oil passage 121 communicates to the port 123 of a directly coupled control valve through ports 119, 119a, and 122, while the port 124 of the fail-safe valve is connected to a drain port 110a. Therefore, even if a directly coupled clutch control valve 117 is in directly coupled clutch engagement position 117B, the port 131 communicates to the port 204 of a converter 200, and the port 203 communicates to the drain port 110a through a port 132. Thus, the directly coupled clutch can be certainly released below a fixed speed.
