Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a good reproduction possible, by providing a means which scrapes off the powder attached on a recording plane of a tape or the surface of rotating part of a tape run system from the tape and an air pump sucking up the scraped powder. CONSTITUTION:A recording and reproducing device is suitably provided with cleaners 11, 12, 13, 14 to remove back coating powder and magnetic powder from a tape 1. That is, the cleaners 11, 12 are provided near a head 6 as shown in figure, to remove back coating material powder attached on the recording surface of the tape 1. Further, an air pump 33 is connected to a rotating shaft of a capstan motor 31 via gears 32a, 32b to suck up the back coating material powder and magnetic powder through a suction tube 23 from the cleaners 11, 12, 13, 14, and to discharge it through a discharge pipe 34. Thus, the dropout at reproduction can be prevented and stable and excellent reproduction can be performed.
